Design # 17- Creating Artwork for the Poetry Book "My Love"
Step-by - Step Tutorial…
Hello my lovelies,
I would like to introduce my new art tutorial on how to create this kind of flower splendour in a monochrome colour combination, in this case is Blues. All materials from Aliexpress as well as brush and paper. Let’s begin!
1) You will need any kind of draft paper, in my case it’s a dotted one.
2) Take a pencil and draw these kind of wavy lines.
3) Next, ad leaves at the ends.
4) And then these kind of small branches.
5) Next, draw leaves on top of each branch.
6) Next, draw these kind of scrolls.
7) And star-like shapes.
8) Next, draw these kinds of flowers on top of each star-like shape.
9) Draw this kind of flower bud.
10) Next, use a permanent Sharpie to outline everything, so we can use it for other projects.
11) I will use “Light Box” to transfer the design, but you can use a window in your room.
12) Start transferring elements of flowers and leaves.
13) Add some scrolls here and there. Do not overload the picture, we want harmony and elegance in the painting.
14) I’ve done a transfer, this is what a picture looks like before painting with the colours.
15) I will use watercolours and synthetic brush. You can use any other brush, but I don’t use animal-based brushes, so this is why my brush is synthetic. Not the best one, but I like it :)
16) We will be using these 2 shades of blue.
17) First, paint everything with a lighter blue, add more water to the colour.
18) Keep painting.
19) Add more elements.
20) And this is the finished first light colour.
21) Next, I will add shading with the darker blue colour.
22) I keep adding elements.
23) Done.
24) I will use these markers and a pen to add highlights.
25) I use lighter blue to outline here and there, just to add a little bit of colour.
26) Take a darker blue and draw the lines in the middle and on the scrolls.
27) Next, take a thin blue pen and draw around big flowers, put some dots on the petals, some lines on the leaves. It is important not to draw a solid line, we want illusion, airiness, so draw a breaking line.
28) And this is how this painting looks when it’s done. Pretty :)
Next, I will send it to the cover designer on Fiverr and they will put it all together. Later, the publisher, will put a final touches.
