Hello my lovelies,
This month I skipped my morning yoga a couple of times and I thought what if I create something cute and sweet related to yoga. I would like to introduce these two cats who are lazy but still do their yoga in the mornings :) They look amazing on stationeries and clothes! Check some examples that I’ve created at the end of this tutorial. All supplies are from Aliexpress except for acrylic paints, brushes and art paper. You can purchase them HERE. Let’s begin…
Variation 1 - Blue Cat
1) Take a draft piece of paper, A4 size. Divide paper equally horizontally and vertically. Divide the vertical line on the equal parts as well, like on the picture.
2) Draw the face of the cat and eyes.
3) Add nose and ears.
4) Next, draw the body.
5) Add hands and legs. You can draw the first left or right part of the cat and then copy onto the other side using “Light Box'' or a window in your room during sunlight.
6) Outline everything with the black permanent Sharpie.
7) We will use the following acrylic colours.
8) Transfer this design onto art paper, using pencil.
9) First draw pink stripes on the body.
10) Then draw the body with blue acrylic paint. Draw paws and claws with the dark grey acrylic paint.
11) Next is eyes, use green and black acrylic paints.
12) Next, outline everything with black permanent Sharpie. Add whisks and stripes.
13) Ready!
Variation 2 - Pink Cat
1) We will draw a Pink cat based on Variation 1. Take a piece of the draft paper, A4 in size. Using “Light Box'' or window in your room during daylight, transfer Blue cat but without hands.
2) Add new hands and a new tail.
3) Add whisks and stripes. Outline everything with the permanent black Sharpie.
4) Transfer this design onto art paper, using “Light Box” and pencil.
5) Draw stripes with the blue acrylic paint.
6) Next is pink acrylic paint for the body.
7) Next is dark grey acrylic paint for the paws and claws.
8) Next is eyes, using green and black acrylic colours.
9) Outline everything with black permanent Sharpie.
10) Done!
Variation 3 - Heart
1) I want to use the heart for the sign “I Love Yoga”, so I created this cute heart, using blue and pink colours. Take a piece of draft paper, A4 size. Divide this paper horizontally and in one of the parts draw a heart. Add stripes and outline everything with the black colour Sharpie.
2) Transfer this design onto art paper, using pencil and “Light Box”.
3) Use pink-coloured acrylic paint for stripes.
4) Next is the blue colour for the rest of the heart.
5) Outline everything with the black colour Sharpie.
6) Ready!
This is what I’ve created so far for this tutorial.
Let’s use it on stationery and merchandise. I sent these drawings to the graphic designer on Fiverr and he cleaned up the background. He did a great job and this is how I applied these cats onto my designs.
Thank you for being with me this far. I hope you like these Lazy Yoga Cats!
With love,
Marina.
